Jason Jackson is one of New York City's busiest and most respected trombonists. He currently holds the lead trombone chair in both the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band and the Roy Hargrove Big Band, and has been a member of the Grammy Award-winning Vanguard Jazz Orchestra at the Village Vanguard for nearly 30 years. He currently plays trombone in the Ragtime orchestra at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center, and over the course of his career has held chairs in 13 Broadway productions, among them many Tony Award-winning shows. Jackson's additional credits include engagements with Ron Carter, Charles Tolliver, Jimmy Heath, and McCoy Tyner's Big Band. He teaches jazz trombone at The Juilliard School and City College of New York and performs regularly with his wife, vocalist Rosena Hill Jackson.
